I take all of my bookings via the enquiry form which can be found below! This is to ensure I have all the info I need to accurately quote you, as well as what dates to offer you. Once you’ve filled out the form, I will email you within a week with a price range and availability. I do all of my admin on Tuesdays, so usually that’s when you can expect a response.

The booking form asks some basic info about size, placement, what your idea is, and asks for reference photos. If you’re asking about a flash design, please add a screenshot of the design as your reference image so I know which one you mean!

I charge £80 per hour so I will let you know roughly how long I think your tattoo will take and a price range based on that. If you have any questions after reading the FAQ feel free to ask me them once I email you.

Depending on the time I need for your tattoo, you will need to send a deposit/booking fee to secure the appointment. Deposits are £20, £50, or £100. They are non refundable, but if you need to reschedule for any reason as long as you give 72 hours (3 days) notice the deposit will go towards the new appointment. If you need to reschedule the same appointment more than once I just ask a £10 reschedule fee- this is to protect my time a little as reschedules can often be hard to fill if short notice, and are stressful!

I accept payment through cash or bank transfer. I have no preference between the two but sometimes the signal in town can be bad (usually Saturdays or if there is a big event like football on) so cash can sometimes be easier.

Any reference pictures you can send me are great! Things like examples of the style, shape, or a rough sketch of elements are really helpful. I would prefer you don’t send AI generated references as they are often completely unrealistic and do not translate to actual skin. As well as this, I try to create something unique for you and working together is the most important part of the process for me- I do this job because I love to create for people!

I don’t send over designs before the appointment because I find it much easier to communicate any changes in person if they’re needed. I always book plenty of time for your appointment so if you want to change something, I can do it on the day- no stress! If you need extra processing time the alternative option is to let me know, and I can book you in for a free consultation/design review in person for you to come and see the design, ideally around a week before the appointment.

The studio address is:

Black Moon Tattoo

21-23 Richmond Street

Liverpool

L1 1EF

It’s directly above the Paddy Power in Williamson Square, the entrance is to the side of the building, up the stairs. Usually there is a sign out to help you, but I also have a video on my Instagram highlights titled ‘studio location’ so you can see it exactly.

We are a 1-2 minute walk from Queen’s Square bus station, around a 5 minute walk from Lime Street station, and 7-10 minutes walk from Liverpool Central. The closest parking is Liverpool St John’s multi-storey, but this can get quite busy at times. There are some cheaper car parks in the city like Mount Pleasant or Dale Street, which are around a 15-20 minute walk away.

I recommend trying to get a good night’s sleep and not drinking alcohol the night before. Having breakfast beforehand also makes a big difference, even if you don’t usually have breakfast try to have something small. If you don’t eat it’s likely to hurt more, and the chances of feeling dizzy or faint are a lot higher. Try to be well hydrated as well!

I also recommend wearing loose, comfy clothes that leave the area we are tattooing easily accessible- please don’t wear something like skinny jeans if we’re tattooing your legs! If you’re unsure what to wear for a certain area feel free to message and I can give some suggestions.

Taking good care of your skin in the lead up to your appointment can help get the best outcome as well, I recommend moisturising once a day for at least a week beforehand, plus a gentle exfoliant if you know your skin isn’t sensitive to it. However, please don’t try something new the night before your tattoo as it’s the worst time to have a reaction!

Please bring any snacks and drinks with you, sugar and carbs are great during a tattoo to keep your blood sugar up! If your tattoo is more than 4 hours, we will usually have a little lunch break in the middle so feel free to bring something more substantial with you as well.

I will not tattoo clients using numbing cream. I want to say it absolutely isn’t about making you ‘earn’ your tattoo- I don’t believe in that and I want to make anyone who gets tattooed by me feel as safe and comfortable as I’m capable of. I don’t think suffering more makes you cooler or more hardcore than anyone else. If you know you find tattoos hard, let me know beforehand and I’ll schedule extra time for your appointment so we can take as many breaks as we need. I’m always happy to split pieces into multiple sessions if you need, there is never any pressure to finish in one go and I am always happy to stop and have you come back another day.

Numbing cream contains topical anaesthetics, usually lidocaine. These can trigger allergic reactions, serious immune responses, and even affect your heart. Even if you’ve used them before with no issues, they alter the texture of the skin which makes it difficult for me to tattoo, especially in colour, and it actually takes me longer to tattoo while using them. Ingredients used can slow down healing and cause uneven ink absorption. This can mean the tattoo heals patchy, faded, or uneven.

They’re a mostly unregulated area as in the UK, many of the ingredients used in them are only legal to apply if you hold a medical license, and aren’t actually approved to use on broken skin (meaning the amount absorbed is much higher than it would be for approved uses).

I can’t tattoo you if:

-You are under 18 (it’s the law, sorry!)

-You are pregnant or breastfeeding

-You are taking or about to start antibiotics

-You turn up drunk or otherwise under the influence

-You are using numbing cream (more on that in a sec)

All of these things would cause you to lose your deposit if I find out on the day, so please tell me in advance and we can reschedule the appointment for a time that won’t put you at risk!

If you have other health concerns or are on medication, please don’t worry too much. Most things are completely fine to still be tattooed. If you have complex health needs or it’s a medication I’m not sure about, I will occasionally just ask you to check with your doctor first.

Unfortunately the studio is up one flight of stairs so is not wheelchair accessible. My room is up an additional flight of stairs- if this is an issue for you please let me know in advance and I can book you for a day I’m able to swap stations with one of my colleagues on the lower floor.

I work in a private room so it will just be the two of us during our appointment, I do have an armchair if you want to bring somebody with you but there isn’t space for more than one additional person.

Please feel free to wear headphones or noise cancelling earphones if you need them! I am autistic so no judgement here. Usually we have some quiet music playing and I am normally quite chatty, so if you prefer a quiet appointment do let me know. Likewise, any fidget toys, comfort items, a blanket, entertainment, or anything else you may need are totally fine with me! I do have a few fidgets for clients as well.

We have a gender neutral bathroom with a urinal and stall available, the stall is on the smaller side so if you have mobility needs please let me know and I can show you the staff bathroom, which has more movement room.

If you have any other questions or accessibility needs please feel free to ask! Basically, if it’s within my power I will always try to help.
